Malaya Watson
Malaya Tina Bandico Watson (born September 24, 1997) is an American Singer, Songwriter, and Pianist from Southfield, Michigan. She is the youngest American Idol finalist ever.
==Early life==
Malaya was born into a musical family with her father being a musician as well. At a very young age, and with the guidance of her father, Malaya taught herself how to play numerous instruments including the piano, guitar, tuba and various percussion instruments. As Malaya grew older and her passion for music strengthened she decided to join the ''Michigan Opera Theater Children’s Choir, w''here she starred in Opera’s such as''Carmen'', ''Tosca'', ''Pied piper of Hamlin'' and ''The Very Last Green Thing''. Malaya also performed in the ''Nut Cracker'' for two years. Once she reached middle school she joined the ''Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit''. Under the direction of Delashea Strawder she acted, danced, and sang in numerous stage productions such as ''Singsation'' and ''Hasting Street''. Malaya cites her involvement in both the ''Michigan Opera Theater Children’s Choir'' and ''Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit'' as the experience and coaching that has allotted for such success at her young age.
